In sum, our goal and purpose as an academic and journalistic community is certainty and truth. But for every action, there is always an equal or opposite reaction. Thus, in reaction to efforts on our part which are aimed at conveying or highlighting basic and simple truths, there are actions such as the involvement of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) in censoring and suppressing certain voices and views on search engines and social media, in addition to the “Unit 8200” of the Israeli Defense Forces being involved in the development of “Pegasus,” which is a form of spyware that can get into phones and mobile devices without any clicks. The development of “Pegasus” by the Israeli military was a step too far even for the Biden Administration, who ended up blacklisting the Israeli company which took the contract from the Israeli military to develop “Pegasus.”
Conveying and highlighting basic and simple truths is part of a “teleological principle” that was highlighted by Hegel in the Western tradition, in the sense that the conveyance and highlighting of basic and simple truths is a means to the end or basic goal of world history. Teleology concerns itself with the ends or goals of human history, with or without any regard for the cause or impetus for these ends or goals. Thus, human history or world history has a basic end or goal, and all human actions are merely the collective facilitation of the achievement of this end or goal of world history. In Hegelian terms, the basic end or goal of human history or world history is the “evolution of the universal spirit” within the “collective consciousness” of humanity. And this “evolution of the universal spirit” within the collective consciousness of humanity can be facilitated only through the conveyance and highlighting of basic and simple truths.
The individual or the set of individuals who facilitate “the evolution of the universal spirit” within the collective consciousness of humanity and thus the evolution of world history through the conveyance and highlighting of basic and simple truths are not necessarily in the forefront of world history, despite their selfless efforts and sacrifices. Many of these individuals are overshadowed by this ongoing evolution of world history and are thus put in a reclusive state by the cosmological and universal undercurrents which foster this evolution. Nevertheless, there are always “helping hands” who take part in the facilitation of the evolution of world history in every epoch or stage of world history, although many of these helping hands are largely unseen and reclusive.
Their “loan” comes in the form of energy, selflessness, self-sacrifice, and time, in return for a reward that is supposed to be reaped in the long run. Thus, the calculus behind the conveyance and highlighting of basic and simple truths may not seem “rational” to most people because there are no tangible benefits for such an endeavor in the short run. But conformity to conventional thinking is essentially mutually exclusive from conformity to the rationale and thinking behind the “teleological principle” involved in the evolution of world history. As a result, there is more than what meets the eye.
