When a simple fact about the human body that even a high school student would know – namely, that the human body naturally produces an army of antibodies which in turn fights pathogens and diseases, and that a vaccine gives a boost to this army of antibodies – becomes this politicized, it goes to show the breadth and scope of the mental health crisis which has gripped not just the United States, but also the entire globe to a certain extent. But it is also a fact that the American establishment and state is reaping what it sowed decades ago, with its “Flights of Fancy” to Afghanistan and the Middle East, thus fostering the paranoia and mental health crisis which has now gripped the nation and the world.

I am fortunate and blessed that the education and therapy I have received over the years – in addition to the self-education and pedagogy of a spiritual guide – has enabled me to overcome the inhospitable environment fostered by pervasive and ubiquitous anxiety and paranoia which the American establishment and state fostered over the course of the last two decades. The anxiety and paranoia which the American establishment and state fostered over the course of the last two decades has now manifested into Trump and anti-vaxxers.

If there was political will on the part of the American establishment two decades ago, this current situation – which is now overshadowed by Trump and anti-vaxxers to a large extent – would have been totally avoidable. But as I mentioned in the previous blog post, the window of opportunity to avoid this current situation has largely closed. The establishment and state are now realizing the long-term effects and consequences of short-term actions and myopia from two decades ago. Also, establishment figures and those in the state who were in the grip of the myopia and ignorance of two decades ago should put themselves in the shoes of a person like myself who had to survive the Islamophobia they fostered and thus survive the inhospitable environment they fostered by going through a long and grueling process of individuation and self-education.

The overwhelming majority of people who are now in the grips of the global mental health crisis I was once gripped by do not have the luxury of going through the individuation and self-education I went through over the course of the last eight years or so. In addition to not having the education I received over the course of many years, most people do not have the basic health care or basic income I had over the course of many years. I know first-hand what it is like to overcome the mental health crisis which has now gripped the entire world, but especially the United States. I also know what is necessary to overcome such a crisis. As the adage goes, the one who has gone through the sickness is often a better healer than the doctor who has not gone through the sickness. But unlike the American establishment and the state, I wish unto others what I wish for myself.
