“Decolonization: A Short History” by Jan C. Jansen and Jürgen Osterhammel. I summarized the main points of this very important book in a blog post titled “Decolonization” many months ago. In sum, decolonization has both cultural and economic elements involved in it, and when there are cultural and economic changes as there are now in many parts of the world including in the United States, all of it adds up to a kind of revolution which we are now witnessing on a global scale and scope because of changes and evolutions in globalization and technology. This book is nothing short of a must-read for students of history as well as for those who seek to understand international affairs in a broader and more holistic sense.
