In short, the underlying unity of the major philosophical and religious thought systems of the world stems from the fact that there is ultimately a shared conception and view amongst all these thought systems by which the basic aim and goal of all the world’s peoples is an inclination or tendency towards the “highest good” when all is said and done. And the common conception and view between all these philosophical and religious thought systems is that God is the highest good towards which all things ultimately gravitate and incline either through life or death, whether we like it or not.
In turn, the worst thing that can happen in the world based on the common conception and view of all these various philosophical and religious thought systems is the emergence of chaos and discord in the world which in turn would prevent the collective gravitation towards the highest good. Islam, for instance, believes that the worst sin which can take root on earth above all other sins is global and social chaos and discord, or Fitna.
Hence, our business in Washington of generating, manufacturing, and sowing chaos and discord around the world on a continuous and non-stop basis not only violates international law, but it also contravenes the “collective aim” of international society from a sociological perspective and it contravenes the basic telos of mankind from a teleological and philosophical perspective that is shared amongst all the world’s major philosophical and religious thought systems.
The result? The rise of China as well as the rise of all the other basic and underlying trends of what is now a postmodern age. As mentioned before, China is now the main balancer and the “kingmaker” in what is now the renewal of a balance-of-power dispute between America and Russia. China has now assumed the role of the world’s balancer after Great Britain lost the role in the 20th century. What Russia is now seeking to do is to solidify the shift in the global balance of power which has taken root as a result of the failures of American global policy and strategy over the course of the last few decades.
It follows that aside from the common interests between China and Russia which emerge from both economic, financial, and material considerations on one hand and beliefs, culture, and ideology on the other hand, there is perhaps one common interest which trumps all the ones we have mentioned, namely, the solidification of a permanent shift in the global balance of power which would favor China if China were to cast its lot with Russia amidst the balance of power dispute between America and Russia.
Thus, China can permanently shift the global balance of power in its own favor through Russia if it chooses to do so. And perhaps in order to set the stage for the solidification of a permanent shift in the global balance of power, we can understand the Chinese Foreign Minister’s visit to Moscow today, which is more than likely aimed at setting the stage and laying out the groundwork for a presidential level meeting between the two sides which in turn would forge the blueprint and the course of action towards advancing the one common interest between the two sides which trumps all the other common interests, namely, the solidification of what could be a permanent shift in the global balance of power which has taken root over the course of the last few years, and it is a shift which has both tangible and mysterious explanations and factors that go behind it.
