“A Study of History” by the 20th century British historian Arnold Toynbee. It cost me more than a thousand bucks to get my own set, and I don’t regret it one bit. One of the greatest minds of modern times who got banished and ostracized from mainstream society by Britain’s liberal elite merely for believing in God, Toynbee argued in this twelve-volume mega work and masterpiece that the main indicator and sign of the collapse of a system is not economic conditions. In fact, economic conditions can be stellar and yet a system collapses. Moreover, economic conditions around the world have never been better than they are today. Rather, the main indicator and sign that the system will collapse are social conditions and a social crisis. And everywhere we look, we see signs of a social crisis, especially in the United States. Hence, American policymakers and leaders should think carefully about what to do next.
