And the overriding factor for the advent of these three basic Cold War trends is none other than globalization and technology. To bring the concept or idea home, we should highlight that traditional media lost about two-thirds of its consumption to the internet and social media over the course of the last couple of decades. Thus, when we mention the three basic Cold War trends, the backdrop of it all or the overarching and overriding factor of it all is the deterministic combination of globalization and technology.
