Power is influence. To say that the cultural workmen and intelligentsia are more powerful than ever before, despite being locked up by provincial liberals means that cultural workmen and intelligentsia are more influential than ever before. Power is demonstrated either through force or influence. And the cultural workmen and intelligentsia demonstrate their power through influence above all else.
