A number of philosophers since antiquity have stated that in all societies, there is always a class that rules on one hand, and there is another class which is ruled on the other hand. The ruling class has but two goals or objectives. One, either justify and legitimate their rule over the class that is ruled. Or two, disarm and subdue the class that is ruled so that it does not overthrow the ruling class. This basic social division in Western society that is based on class – whereby one class rules and the other is ruled – automatically translates into a class conflict or class struggle which will never end in Western society. In fact, it is likely that the conflict or struggle along the lines of class will only get worse in due time.
