Due to growing cultural diversity and integration in the world as a whole, both the West and non-West are being split down the middle. On one hand, the West is now divided between neoconservatism and internationalism. And on the other hand, the non-West is divided between modernity and what Samuel Huntington called “indigenization.” But the basic impetus for the changes or the rifts in both the West and non-West is the same, namely, decolonization and the rise of non-western peoples.
