A Food Lover’s Journey Through Time, New York (Part Three of the Latest Edition)

Adel’s Famous Halal Food. Located on 6th Avenue between 48th and 49th St.; Right in front of the Rockefeller Center and Fox News studios. It is hands down the most famous and popular food cart in all of New York City. And it is because every aspect and dimension of its identity is unique and one of a kind. Some people and some things are just unique and one of a kind. That is just how they are and how they have turned out. For one, it’s the color and marination of the chicken which makes it different than its competitors. Then, it’s the spicy rice. At times, the line stretches the entire block. On certain occasions, it takes two hours to get served. It took me a little more than an hour on a Wednesday night. Even its hours of operation are unique and strange. From 6pm to 4am. And yet, it takes two hours to get your food on certain occasions. The line and the wait are part of the experience and the identity of Adel’s. Because of the wait, easily, you can strike up a nice conversation with the people in front of you and behind you. Like I said, unique and one of a kind. That’s just how some people and some things are. And it cleansed all my sins overnight, to say the least. Spicy and hot. If you like spicy and hot, this is the place for you.
Yes, she’s sweet indeed. She’s the sweetest of them all in fact.
