In other words, class – or economics – does not determine status. As Hegel said, there are plebes in every class. Therefore, it is essential and necessary that we make the distinction between class and status, given that in every class, there are status groups, and within every status group, individuals differ in their status based on their education and money and wealth and social esteem, but most importantly in terms of their education and social esteem, given that status is derived first and foremost from education and social esteem.
