The difference between creditor and debtor, or the difference between producer and consumer, is in essence the main difference or core difference between a privileged class on one hand and a disadvantaged class on the other hand in our society (Weber). It is this economic difference or stratification which is then solidified by the privileged class through various ways and means. But as we said before, this cementing or solidification of social stratification on an economic basis has little to do with the actual social order, where prestige is the main currency. In the social order, one is obliged to give up entrepreneurial activity and refuse pay for literary and intellectual activity for the sake of prestige.
