For the “Global South” in particular, the rise of an alternative to the West in the form of the Sino-Russian alliance is a win and a victory. It is essentially game over when an alternative like this arises in the international system. In turn, the rise of an alternative is the single most transformative and impactful occurrence or phenomenon or trend in the world system. In other words, the rise of an alternative is “axiomatic” to borrow from one scholar. It is the most important and consequential truth or reality of international affairs, which then impacts and shapes all other aspects or dimensions of international affairs.
