Why the economy explains everything is because structure explains everything, as we said before. And capitalism is the structure of the international system. Capitalism and structure are one and the same. So a particular such as an election can easily be explained by the universal, namely, capitalism and thus the structure of the international system. Everything that occurs in our lives, both collectively and individually, occurs within the structure. The structure explains everything. And the structure is capitalism.
