The central or essential question for mankind – namely, the question of human nature – is therefore the question of the human soul. And as we have discussed before, the human soul consists of two parts, namely, the appetite and the intellect (Aristotle). It follows that the development of the soul consists of control over the appetite and the activation of the intellect through a frame (or an oeuvre) and initiation by a spiritual order.
