In a sense, anxiety is a sign to abstain from what is going on in our environment and surroundings. What is novel, however, is the volume and speed by which stories are being shared, and the manner and shape by which communities and personal bonds are being forged in a digital age. It’s the stories which are changing our world. Much of our social life is now online. Yet, and just as before, the incentive to abstain from all of it is the same as before, if not greater.
