Intoxication or sobriety. The two basic schools of mystical transcendence. The transcendence out of the unreal and the condition or state where nothing is real and into the condition or state that is real and is absolute and thus the achievement of unio mystica, with all its various attributes and symbols. ‘Absolute reality’ is accompanied by its own attributes and conditions and symbols. All is symbolism after all. All is symbolic.
