“Ma Meshawom Yaaret”

Artist: Tawab Jawed (An Afghan artist and musician based in Canada). Composition: Tajik Folklore. Rough Translation: “You won’t believe it, but I fought and struggled and came all this way just for one date and rendezvous with you. I came all this way and I fought with everyone and struggled this much, just to become your friend and lover. There’s no other purpose to all of this. And I will eventually become your friend and lover. Then again, I might lose my name and reputation over it. So maybe you should go away and mind your own business. Maybe we shouldn’t become friends and lovers. I don’t know. You have all these different colored blouses which go very well with your beautiful wavy hair. It’s your beautiful wavy hair that has driven me mad and insane. Along with those intoxicating eyes that are drunk with love. And don’t follow my movements too much, or else I might lay a blow to you like I did to all the others. It’s bad enough that I’ve gone mad and insane over your long and beautiful hair. Going mad and insane over your long and beautiful hair is itself too much to handle at this point.”
