Second Note

Like a book or a body of essays, a collection of writings, an ‘anthology’ to borrow from Taylor Swift. I don’t like Taylor Swift, but her use of the word ‘anthology’ matters here. Like this blog as a matter of fact. Hidden and made secret and thrown into an isolated and silent corner, so that only those who truly know can come across it. No one else would come across it. Why? Because people don’t read that much. Reading is on the decline. But there’s also reading on one hand, and deep literacy on the other hand. Most people can read. They read all sorts of garbage. But they are not engaged in deep literacy. And it’s deep literacy which matters. Deep literacy is on the decline. Being able to read what others can’t really read or understand. To read on a higher level. Deep literacy also carries exclusivity with it. So when it’s all made exclusive, it’s been made hidden and secret and isolated and silent as well. Set aside in an isolated and silent corner. Made only for those who know. Or for those who really and truly seek to know. ‘Seek and ye shall find.’ It’s about what you want and seek in life. The language of God is silence after all. All else is erroneous translation, as Rumi said. God is to be sought in silence. God is veiled and hidden and made obscure and mysterious through silence after all. And he is alone as well. Alone and silent. God is alone and silent.
