My great-grandfather, Aseel Khan Waziri. A famous militia leader who fought the British during the “Third Anglo-Afghan War” of the 1920’s, and the founder of the Afghan state after the power vacuum which ensued as a result of that war. He installed the monarchy which would rule for the next fifty years after that war came to an end.
I was able to track down one more picture from high school, and I hope I can find more. There were no iPhones then, and I was camera shy, which makes the task very difficult. Fingers crossed.
And one more from college as well. When I was a freshman. The college ones will be the most difficult to track down. I don’t know if there’s much hope. But let’s see. There should be a student ID lying around here somewhere. But I don’t know.
