“The Problem of Allocation.” Talcott Parsons. If in the very end it is all about the question of who gets what and who does what within the basic framework of a nation-state, then perhaps our current flow or stream converges on the issue of debt and the cultural factors which drove it. And as a result of it all, it could very much be the case that we have ceased to exist as a functional nation-state. But it is perhaps too early to tell at this point. The likelihood is that we have in fact ceased to exist as a functional nation-state.
