Of course, the Taliban aren’t the only ones in the world who insist on draconian law or “law and order” as some people put it. Draconian law or “law and order” are seen as the remedy for all the corruption and warmongering that goes on in society and in the world at large. But if “law and order” goes as far as criminalizing and stamping out a little bit of pleasure, or some good old weed and alcohol and sex and rock and roll, then what’s the point of living? It’s all about finding the right balance between freedom and control. And in order to find that perfect balance, you need to be free to find it in the first place.
