Sixth Note to “Nazoko Naaz Ko”

Nor is there really any proof that draconian “law and order” and the ‘Law of Hammurabi’ which some people want can actually change basic human nature. It all either comes out to the fore, or it all goes underground. But it never goes away. The famous “Prohibition” in the United States is case in point. The Kennedy family, for instance, became the Kennedy family because of bootlegging. I had white friends in high school whose grandparents and great-grandparents were involved in the bootlegging of the American prohibition. Our question is a question of human nature in the very end. And in the very end, you need the right balance between freedom and control. Those who insist on more control are actually the biggest hypocrites from what I’ve experienced in life.
