Fifth Note to “Shamali Lalazar”

Arguably, deliverance and salvation is either freely given – a free and voluntary act of divine grace – or it is attained through esoteric methods and techniques which are revealed to a seeker (murid) through a spiritual guide (pir). Aside from its famous pleasure-seeking, Shamali is also known for its spiritual guides.

Esoteric salvation religion is thus much different than exoteric orthodoxy and religion in the sense that the former approaches God with a mindset based largely on a notion of love, whereas the latter approaches God in a state of fear. Do we fear God, or do we love him? That’s the million dollar question, isn’t it? Thus, when the approach towards God himself is one that is based on love, the mental health result and outcome is likely to be a carefree and worry-free attitude and condition as opposed to one based on anxiety and fear.
