“Az Dastat Feghan Feghan” – از دستت فغان فغان

Artist: Ahmad Zahir. Rough Translation: “Believe it or not, I literally yell and scream at night from the pain that comes from this love. I endure very dark nights because of this love I have for you. And if you think the world is drenched in blood now, my love, consider this poor heart of mine and what it went through all this time. Nor did my experiment and season of a little bit of enjoyment and fun and hedonism and pleasure-seeking in order to remedy the misery and pain a little bit – and which actually made me fit and healthy – endure and last for too long. I wonder why? If I had to bet on it, it’s all aimed to impose and expand the pain from this love on me even further. Rain down a hundred more of Cupid’s arrows on me to top it all off. As if I didn’t take enough of them all this time. So I can cry and sing like a nightingale for you. You in turn have the face of a beautiful bird or even a beautiful angel, my love. Just listen to this voice of mine and decipher the basic melancholy and sorrow in it. And then empathize with me for once. Even if we’re both beginning to get old now, which we are, we are not as young as we were when we first started out together, we aren’t as young as we were before, we will become young again out of the real and genuine and pure and true love we have for one another. You and I both know it. We know it in our heart of hearts. We found our elixir of youth unlike everyone else. It was the love we have for one another.”
