‘Vola’s Dockside Grill’ located at the Old Town Alexandria Waterfront. Named after Vola Lawson, a former city manager in the City of Alexandria who made the waterfront what it is today. She was in local government for almost 50 years. So she’s a legend around here. There is virtually little to nothing to do in Northern Virginia except to eat or go to the mall. But the few waterfront areas we have in this area go a long way, and Vola Lawson single-handedly made one of them what it is today. There is always a woman involved. All of our clues lead to a woman in the very end. For dinner, Chesapeake Crab Dip with Jalapeño cheddar bread, and a Shrimp Po’ Boy sandwich. You’ll get the review shortly.
