Second Note to ‘Featured Article, July 30, 2025’

As the Quran states:

“Indeed, it is We who created humankind and fully know what their souls whisper to them, and We are closer to them than their jugular vein.”

‘Suluk’ or ‘Individuation’ is all about finding God by turning inward towards the inner self and going within. And when we turn inward towards the inner self and go within in order to find God, we find that God is closer to us than we think, closer to us than our ‘jugular vein.’ All that we need, therefore, all that suffices, is within us. All that is external to the inner self is merely an illusion and is dependent on something else. One cannot depend on something that is dependent on something itself. What is within us suffices if one can come around to realizing it. But of course, it is difficult to overcome the sense of dependence and the illusions, given that we are conditioned and we are intimidated into buying into them and subscribing to them.
