Fun fact: Surprisingly or not, there is no Western equivalent to the Eastern concept of letting go of all worldly attachments. In the Middle East and Central Asia, there is Zuhd. In South Asia and Southeast Asia, there is Nirvana. In East Asia and Northeast Asia, there is Wuxin or Mushin. But no such concept exists in the Modern West. A very small and subtle fact, but one which is comprehensive and perhaps explains everything.
