Summer Road Trip, 2025 (Verse Two)

After the Freudian experiment or project where we got virtually everything out of our system, the next experiment or project is to perhaps step foot in all 50 states in the United States, just for the hell of it. I’m gonna make that my next experiment or project. Plus, it’s good to become familiar with your own country and its people. Just on this leg of this current trip alone, from my house in Northern Virginia to Hot Springs, Virginia, I drove through roads and counties in my own home state which I had never even seen or heard of before. It was also a very beautiful ride alongside the mountains. I’ve stepped foot into 14 states thus far (California, Nevada, Colorado, Michigan, Illinois, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, Florida). And by the time we are done with this road trip into the Deep South – given that we don’t chicken out – we will have knocked out another three states (South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama) which will then take our tally to 17. So let’s make the best of it, shall we? Currently, we are at the oldest spa in the history of the United States, founded in 1761. Even before the founding of the republic or even before the revolution for that matter. Cool, eh? It is host to a geothermal bath, which means the water seeps out of the ground from geysers at an exact temperature of 98.7 degrees Fahrenheit. And the minerals seep through the skin and into the nerves to tranquilize you and relax you. Thomas Jefferson apparently used to come here. I just got out, and I can assure you it’s worth it. Come here if you want one less regret in your life. It’s exactly what I needed, and it’s probably what you need as well.
