NYC Food Recommendation, August 15, 2025

‘Keens Steakhouse.’ Of course, given that our leitmotiv and overarching theme is prestige – our ego wouldn’t allow otherwise – this is the most historic, legendary, iconic, and prestigious steakhouse in NYC. Founded in the 19th century, it apparently used to import 50,000 clay smoking pipes from the Netherlands on an annual basis – I love the Netherlands by the way – given that at that time, legend and myth and rumor and superstition had it in England that the clay pipes would ward off “evil humours of the brain.” Demons. Jinn. And it is now home to over 90,000 of them. It was also an all-men’s club or inn, exclusively for men, but women eventually blackmailed and sued to get in. Women will indeed blackmail and sue to get access to whatever or whomever they like. We have to be nice and accommodative to all the women. Not just one or two of them. But that is only if the women allow to be nice and accommodative to all of them. They might all just conspire together to drive you into sainthood. If not all or one, then none. Legendary. Mythical. Historic. Prestigious. I am going for their legendary mutton chop. It’s a steakhouse, but their most famous dish is the legendary mutton chop. So let’s see how it goes. We busted quite a few of them, by the way. But it was a good thing. I have no regrets. I’d do it all over again just to get the message through.
