The artist creates the world, and then allows the world he or she has created through art and philosophy to “manifest its utter futility.”
This act of detachment and indifference towards the world which the artist has created and explained then leads to his or her overall emancipation and liberation, as Camus contended. It was about rebellion and revolt against the absurdity of the world scene after all. As Camus said: “Accepting the absurdity of everything around us is one step, a necessary experience: it should not become a dead end. It arouses a revolt that can become fruitful.”
And perhaps the greatest act of rebellion and revolt against the absurdity of the world scene is detachment and indifference towards the world after having experienced it and known it to the extent that it can be created by the individual through art and philosophy.
