According to Mike Huckabee, God created the world as well as Adam and Eve about 6,000 years ago and then sent Adam and Eve down to earth as punishment after the two of them got duped by Satan. But apparently, the stegosaurus was already roaming around the earth 150 million years ago. It follows that the stegosaurus came before Satan! Or at least the stegosaurus came before Satan’s conversion to God’s evil! Yet, there’s no mention of the stegosaurus in the Torah and Bible and Quran! We are giving the stegosaurus the short end of the stick here! It is at this point, therefore, when religion not only runs into a roadblock or ‘plot hole’ per se, but it is also rendered absurd. You can pitch or sell a narrative or meta-narrative of reality to people, until it runs into a ‘plot hole’ like this one and the whole narrative is then rendered absurd.
And of course, adding to the absurdity in the myth of Judeo-Christian creationism, when the angels asked God why he decided to create evil, the latter told the former to fuck off and to shut up. It was just me around, but I woke up bored one day and decided to create evil, and if you want a reason why, you won’t get it. “I will persuade all and sundry of my knowledge and logic and power, but I won’t.” Brilliant. Splendid.
