Note to “Northern Virginia Food Search, October 2, 2025”

There is now a divide between the Old New York as embodied by Andrew Cuomo and Italian and Jewish millionaires and billionaires on one hand, and the New New York as embodied by Zohran Mamdani and the Halal Bowl or Halal Platter. Personally, I come from the Old New York. My parents are of that generation or milieu and I know what that milieu is all about because I lived it. But we either step out of our milieu to change the world, or we step out of the world and into our milieu to allow predestination to play itself out to its end like clockwork. One or the other. That’s what I’ve come to realize at this point in my life.
