Fifth Note to “Death Before Dying”

Man is either close to God or far from God and there are no other conditions in which Man can find himself aside from these two conditions, but Man also comes in four categories, as suggested by the renowned Sufi saint:

One, there are those with no heart and no tongue, and these are the worst of all humankind. Two, there are those with a tongue and no heart, and they need to be contained. Three, there are those with a heart but no tongue, and these individuals need to be revered. And finally, there are those with both a heart and a tongue, and these are the leaders or figures who must be followed and obeyed. There are ranks of men in the overall social hierarchy or social world. And these are the actual ranks which we have stated here.
