And at this point, we again come across an issue which naturally follows from our previous point, which is the issue of “involuntary election” and “voluntary election.” We mentioned how Man is either close to God or far from God and that Man cannot possibly find himself in a condition aside from these two particular and specific conditions. But there are those who are brought close to God – “involuntary election” – and then there are those who themselves make the effort to get close to God – “voluntary election.”

In turn, those who are either brought close to God or who themselves make the effort to get close to God are known as “The Elect.” Mystics. Saints. An exclusive group of individuals whom we have come to know or know of, either through little or no fault of our own. And it is “The Elect” who control the universe. There could be no universe without “The Elect.” All would be annihilated without their existence. And that’s how the world works in a nutshell.
