Meaning, according to Kissinger, is to be discovered rather than declared, and contemplative art is the means towards that ongoing discovery. But if I had to state where I am at this particular moment in the ongoing discovery, it is very much Freudian and thus deeply psychoanalytical, in the sense that Eros and the “Pleasure Principle” have given way to Death and the “Reality Principle” as a result of all the conflict and war that surrounds us and permeates our lives both directly and indirectly. That’s where I am in this discovery if you want the honest truth.
