Both “the chickens are coming home to roost” and “by any means necessary” are quintessential and traditional American expressions and phrases which were made famous and popular by the legendary Malcolm X, and both apply to the overall content and theme of this post as well. Although “by any means necessary” originated from Jean-Paul Sartre’s 1948 play titled “Dirty Hands.” Malcolm X simply made the expression and phrase famous and popular in America. Coincidentally and perhaps ironically, my entire intellectual development and journey began with Sartre when I was a graduate student twelve years ago. It all began with Sartre. And here we are.
