Twenty-Second Note to “Be Prepared to Fight”

Oscar Wilde is believed to have said or written:  “Everything in the world is about sex except sex. Sex is about power.”

Between the whole-of-government policies and strategies that led to fiscal and financial bankruptcy along with bankruptcy in terms of credibility and trust on one hand and the assertive claims of nationalism and self-determination on the other hand is the very subtle and sublime truth. Perhaps this is the best way of interpreting Oscar Wilde’s statement. At least in my view, it’s the most erudite and sophisticated way of interpreting it. But of course, it’s subject to all kinds of interpretations. Everyone interprets things from their own particular angle and position. Everyone presents their own position and angle to it. This is just one position and angle towards the interpretation of this breathtaking and sweeping statement, and in line with what we’ve contended here thus far.
