And even if there is no duty or purpose or virtue or religion to account for, there is the issue of feeling. And the feeling sought is the difference between either “orgiastic intoxication” or a more moderate “peak experience” derived from the ‘spiritual ecstasy’ or unio mystica of ‘deliverance’ or ‘salvation religion.’ The mystics and particularly the Sufis are well-acquainted and familiar with this feeling. Devotees from all kinds of different religions spend an entire lifetime to get a taste of it or to feel it, only to realize that it is brought upon someone rather than brought on by someone.
