Balqees was the status quo power of the time, and Solomon was the rising power. And of course, the last thing in the world that the status quo power wants is for the rising power to take them down. But that’s exactly what happened. And on top of it all, she fell in love with him and either married him or had a romantic relationship with him, all while adopting his strict monotheism and abandoning her polytheism on top of it all. Impressive to say the least.
