A protracted war, a “long war” per se, and a “war of attrition” in Europe became a prospect when we consider how in some shape or form, this conflict or war in Eastern Ukraine has endured for more than a decade now and there is still no end in sight to it. How to acclimate or adjust to this kind of war becomes the most crucial question in Washington, considering how the current decision and strategy of underbalancing against it on one hand and over-expansion on the other hand is undoubtedly a failed and futile decision and strategy.
