Fait accompli, but the idea or the notion in the White House that it can all perhaps be avoided or evaded implies or suggests that there is a choice or that there is free will in the matter. I would contend that rather than there being choice or free will in the matter, Russia has cornered all of us into sitting idly by in Augustinian fashion as Rome burns. There is no room to maneuver. There is no wiggle room. Experience and intuition tells me this. If there were room to maneuver or if there were wiggle room, one could conceive of it or state it. But we cannot conceive of it or state it.
