Moreover, outside of one’s own national boundaries and territory, it simply becomes a matter of projecting one’s intentions or thoughts to others in a manner by which you can get them to behave the way you want them to behave, as Schelling argued. Thus, the basic intention or thought we are projecting abroad is “decaying, weak little piglets aren’t worth defending” and in turn, the projection of this intention or thought to the rest of the world will undoubtedly have an impact or influence on everyone’s behavior in Britain, Europe, Russia, and perhaps even beyond. Specifically, it will have a sobering effect on all the parties involved in the Russia-Ukraine war or on those who are immediate stakeholders in the conflict and war such as the NATO treaty signatories. Thus, it is not inconsequential or insignificant when “decaying, weak little piglets aren’t worth defending” is the basic message or thought to the whole wide world. Rather than being inconsequential and insignificant, it determines and shapes everything in international affairs and international society.
