Ninth Note to “Laila”

‘Success’ is perhaps defined as the achievement of a goal. And as Ray Dalio wrote, there are two paths to success:

1. Getting what you need from others
2. Having what you need yourself

I have long been on the second path, in the sense that I myself have what I need to accomplish the goal of getting what I need to get out of this blog project or process, and I have what I need to accomplish the goal of the next project or process, which is to retire and withdraw by the beach in Tangier. Between the accomplishment of the two goals or projects, it becomes a question of what one would need out of others. And there is really no need for anything from others, nor is there anything that they can really offer that is essential or valuable.
