Twelfth Note to “Laila”

Everyone will conceive of the good life differently in their minds, but certain conceptions of the good life are better than others. Some conceptions of the good life are correct and valid, while others are erroneous and wrong. And it becomes a matter of how public discourse and the public sphere determines and differentiates the good ones and the true ones from the bad ones and the erroneous ones. Otherwise, why convey your thoughts to the world like this? Why not just keep your thoughts to yourself? I would’ve fared better if I kept my thoughts to myself. But at the same time, it becomes imperative to influence public discourse and the public sphere at a time when public discourse and the public sphere is going through such turbulence and upheaval as a result of misinformation and a number of other factors associated with the transition from the modern age to the digital age. Moreover, everyone leaves a digital footprint now, and our digital footprint is everything. Our digital footprint is our currency now. So we leave our digital footprint as well, and we see how it all pans out in public life and in the public sphere.
