Plato and “The Allegory of the Cave.” Give up everything for a clear-eyed analysis and reckoning with truth and reality. Step out and up above the system to get a special and unique education outside of the system, only to come back down to everyone else’s level to teach them the lessons learned. The world is the dark cave in which all we see are shadows and illusions, and we know what truth and reality are when we step out of the allegorical cave which is the world and assess the world for what it really is.
All else is a mere footnote to Plato.
