Thirteenth Note to “Kidnapped”

It’s largely about the vital interest involved, not the legal precedent. We claim the legal precedent for this kidnapping was the Noriega case. But what was the legal precedent for the Noriega case? The answer is that there was no legal precedent for the Noriega case, but rather, what was involved was the vital interest that is the control of the Panama Canal. And if the supposed vital interest involved here is the control of Venezuelan oil in order to bring gas prices down here – assuming that Venezuelan oil can even be controlled – who determines that it is actually a vital interest? Thus, there are more questions than answers as we said. But the questions and their answers are largely eclipsed by chaos and dysfunction.
