Artist: Farhad Darya. Rough Translation: “Let’s look at how the world in general and this business in particular really works, my fellow youth. Let’s look at its modus operandi: hypocrisy and lies. But their hypocrisy and lies have grave consequences and implications as well. Dark nights, gloomy days, cruelty, evil. You laugh, I know. You were laughing the whole time. But it’s sad nevertheless. But of course, all while this was going on for all these years, my mentor and my guiding light took me on a journey and a mirage to the cities and mountains of Afghanistan. And what I found was that instead of laughter and fun, the law and the policy is to just sleep and to be a vegetable. Just sleep and be a vegetable in comparison to the days when we all used to socialize and have fun and when we’d fly kites and play all sorts of games and music. We were nice to one another and we had fulfilling lives. But not anymore. The ones who believe me and understand what I’m actually saying in this business will smile and nod. The ones who don’t believe and understand are a totally different case to be dealt with.”
