Provocations over Taiwan, the relationship with Russia and Iran and Afghanistan, TikTok, and now Venezuela are perhaps a constellation of factors which will suggest that realpolitik will prevail over money in the Chinese view. Moreover, all roads lead to China, and China “holds the cards” when it comes to the NATO-Russia dynamic. Thus, it very much comes down to whether China decides to prioritize realpolitik over money or not, given that it all comes down to whether NATO or the Sino-Russian alliance will win World War III.
