“2016”

There is apparently a new trend on social media which spotlights a sort of nostalgia for the year 2016. A lot of crazy and insane trends, but this one seems to be one of the funnier and stupider ones. In my view, 2016 was a year where I gained lots of interesting experiences in terms of politics and international affairs, but suffered dearly in terms of personal life. But of course, both contributed to growth and insight. So I don’t know what to really make of the year 2016, except for the fact that it was a mixed bag.
Quite a bit of travel too. A combination of travel, experience in the field, and immense suffering in personal life. A weird balance. All of which contributed to the person I am today. What to make of 2016? For one, I’m glad that we have put it behind us. Also, it’s all a matter of perception and interpretation, given that nostalgia and the pursuit of complete satisfaction is what is behind it all.
